Wondering how the great items from the small businesses will be fulfilled? Two options are available. Each merchant offers Local Pickup or Shipping. When shopping products add them to your cart and you will be offered the option to select local pickup or shipping.
Local Pickup is free and operates a lot like curbside pickup from restaurants. Orders won’t be ready right away, yet once your order is prepared a notification will be sent via email. Once the order is ready, you can pickup your items during shop business hours. Shop operating hours can be found by clicking here and visiting the storefront you ordered from. Still unsure about when a shop is open? Either call the phone number or click on the social media icons provided on the storefront pages, those are great ways to confirm hours of operations. Please note that shops will have varied hours and that holidays and weather may affect these hours.
Locatile’s mission is to promote shopping local online, and for shoppers to still connect and learn more about the people and boutiques they are supporting by purchasing on this platform rather than on a large retailers website. So selecting Local Pickup is a great way to interact with the businesses.
Once you receive notification your item is ready for Pickup, you will park near the shop and can either walk into the store and at their checkout counter share that you are a Locatile shopper and picking up an order. You can give them your name to retrieve your package. If you’re sending someone in your place forward your order confirmation email with them if the shop owner asks.
If you prefer to curbside pickup when you park, call the shop number and let them know that you are parked for curbside delivery from Locatile and give them your name, car model/color and where you are parked. If you need the number for the shop, click here and select the shop and the number can be found on the storefront page. Many towns have CURBSIDE parking spots. These spots are for shops and restaurants so you can use these or find a spot by store to either run in for pickup or call for curbside delivery.
Shipping is also offered for all orders. If you shop online often you are probably accustom to paying for shipping. At check out shipping is calculated by weight from each merchant. Meaning, if you shop from three independent stores, you will see three shipping charges. Once the order has shipped tracking numbers are sent via email, and typically items are delivered within 3 to 5 days of shipping. The email tracking is sent by Sendle our shipping partner. So check your inbox and spam for notifications from Sendle. To keep rates competitive, at this time standard shipping is through the USPS. To set expectations, we ask that you don’t compare shipping from local small shops to national retail eCommerce delivery options. It’s not apples to apples and you won’t see free shipping or same day/one day arrivals.
